Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, Visoko, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the largest stone structure of the ancient world
The monumental stone structures that are partially dug out, including the unknown ancient symbols engraved on the megalithic blocks and a network of the underground tunnels connecting the pyramids help us to recognize the remains of a great masterpiece left behind by an unknown civilization dating from ancient European eras.”

Prof. Nabil Mohammed Swelim, renowned Egyptologist, on the newly discovered Bosnian Pyramids

In August 2008, Sarajevo will be hosting the very first International Scientific Conference for the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids.  The Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation, which was started three years ago by Semir Osmanagić, to sponsor excavation and research of the Bosnian Pyramids and other monuments in Bosnia-Herzegovina, is finally being given recognition from the world scientific community for its sponsorship and coordination of scientific and cultural research of these huge, pyramidal monuments found near the medieval town of Visoko, 30 kilometers northwest of the capital city of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Excavation began on the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun in 2006, and excavations and research continue on the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, the underlying tunnels and other archaeological features in Visoko Valley (aka Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids) under the auspices of the Foundation.  Sufficient and compelling evidence has been brought to light over the past three years which will verify that the hills in Visoko Valley are actually manmade pyramids, exhibiting both artificial characteristics and natural features.

The Scientific Conference, known as “ICBP,” will be gathering distinguished scientists from around the world.  The Head Chairman and President of the Conference is Professor Nabil Swelim of Cairo—a triple PhD in Egyptology and the discoverer of four pyramids in Egypt.  Dr. Swelim will be joined in the chairmanship position by Professor Oleg Khavroshkin, from the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in Moscow, who will act as the Chairman of the Scientific Committee, and Dr. Ivan Simatovic, of Zagreb, Croatia, who will be the Chairman of the Organizing Committee.  The Co-Chairmen Committee are comprised of professors and professionals in archaeology, Egyptology, geology,  mathematics and other sciences from such diverse countries as Egypt, Russia, Poland, Hungary, UK, Germany, Brazil, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the USA. Organizers include:  Faculty of Archaeology-Cairo University, Ein-Shams University, Cairo, Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth - Russian Academy of Natural Science, the Archaeological Society of Alexandria and Universities of Mostar and Zenica from Bosnia.

The topics being covered are:  Archaeological research of pyramidal objects and similarities between Bosnian Pyramids and the Egyptian, Mexican and Chinese pyramids; Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods in Europe and the contributions to prehistory of the Balkans and Southeast Europe (late Upper Paleolithic from the last ice age to the Bronze Age); Geoarchaeology, Archaeogenetics, Agropedology, and decipherment of the ancient landscape and the nature of human impact/intervention in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids; testing and treatment of Egyptian pyramids as applied to artifacts and Bosnian Pyramids; Geodesy, Geology, Geophysics, and Energy Research Radiation; age dating and deciphering of prehistoric writings, including European symbols as they relate to the writings (or embrionary “Proto-Script Visoko”) found in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids; radiocarbon, luminescence, nuclear, and other lab methods of age-dating; tourism and the pyramids; and the archaeological community within Bosnia-Herzegovina.
